Nineteen of the Russian's twenty-one titles have been achieved on hardcourt

A revitalized Daniil Medvedev claimed his initial championship for over two years with a win over Corentin Moutet in the tournament championship match.

Medvedev, a ex- world number one, has endured a torrid period, achieving just one match at the Grand Slams and experiencing a setback at the American major.

Medvedev's varied form on the ATP Tour - and difficulties with his serve in particular - resulted in him exiting of the world's top 10 and finally separating with former trainer his previous coach.

Currently collaborating with Thomas Johansson and Rohan Goetzke, the tennis star has consistently progressed in the recent weeks - culminating in a closely contested three-set win over opponent Corentin Moutet.

It is the player's first trophy following the Italian tournament and maiden on a hard surface since that period of the previous year.

Success also indicates the Russian has achieved twenty-one victories at 21 various tournaments.

"It's the first time I'm at a competition with my two daughters at once, so to secure a trophy is especially meaningful," commented ranked player Medvedev.

"This championship is in dedication of my child my daughter, because the initial championship I won when my first daughter my daughter was born was for her."

The tennis star, the former major winner, had lost his previous six championship matches, comprising in that event previously this season.

His retrieving strategy and regular outbursts on the tennis court had led observers to question if his capacity to perform at the top level was finished.

However the athlete has made changes in the last few weeks, striving to come to the net and perform assertively, backed up by an improved serving game.

The champion came back from a disadvantage in the initial set against the tricky Moutet, taking four of the last five exchanges to go ahead.

The pair swapped break points in the second set before Moutet, striving for his first professional championship, gained dominance to force a third set.

Moutet rescued 4 early-game opportunities in a competitive final set before Medvedev broke to fifteen to secure the win.

Fittingly, Medvedev earned the title with a shot at the net, with Moutet failing to handle a return after over two and a half hours.
